Slave To Sin - The Truth Shall Make You Free

John 8:31-32

"I feel so free!" said a boy who had asked Jesus to be his Savior. "My cousin and I used to do bad things. I used to steal. But that’s all over now. Its like a burden is gone!" Before we received the Lord Jesus, we are like slaves. Sin is our master. But Jesus has no sin. He is filled with truth. When He comes into your heart and forgives your sin. He sets you free from its power. You no longer have to obey your old master!

Even though a Christian has power to say "No" to sin, that old master does not give up. He keeps trying to get you to do wrong . God’s Word helps you to be strong against sin. Here are two special promises to remember:

"He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4)

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13)

31. Then Jesu said to those Jews who believed Him, "If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed." 32. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make your free."
